be a guide, not an expert
There are people on a similar journey to yours, a few steps behind where you are today. Just as there are others a few steps ahead.
The person ahead has faced obstacles like those you’re facing now. And the ones you face today, someone else will face them tomorrow.
You don’t need to be an expert to help others. We learn from people all around us. Guided by those ahead, while guiding those behind.
All it takes to guide someone is a willingness to share what you know, and acknowledge what you don’t. Care about the person you’re helping. Want what’s best for them.
Don’t underestimate the value of your lived experiences. Your lessons learned. Wisdom accumulated. Through trial and error, blood, sweat, and tears.
Someone can relate. If you let them.
Be a guide, not an expert.
