begin again

When you want to achieve something—anything—you’ve got to put in the work. Build a habit. Cultivate discipline. Work towards progress, not perfection.

But the mind wanders. We get distracted. We forget what we set out to do.

A minute goes by. An hour. Maybe a day. Or more.

And still, there’s one remedy that gets us back on track. One that’s always with us.

Simply to begin again.

Start over. Start now. At this very moment. That’s all we can do—all we need to do. Take action in the present instead of dwelling on the past or hoping for the future.

So next time you find yourself distracted, or regretful of time seemingly wasted, remember this. Remember the only remedy.

And then, begin again.

The power isn’t in never getting distracted—it’s in our capacity to notice, to return, to begin again.

Each new moment offers the chance to start fresh.

That’s the practice.
