day one
Today is day one.
You’re not bound by who you were, what you did, or what happened yesterday. Not by any plans you might have for the future.
You’re not trapped by dogma or other people’s opinions. Not by who they think you are or who they think you should be.
Unless you choose to be trapped. But you don’t. You have better options.
You are bound to nothing. Because today is day one. Today we start fresh.
The past is behind us; the future is ahead. All we can do is live in the now. And align our vision, goals, and ambition with our actions in this very moment.
Because today is indeed day one. Every day is.
Today, you get to decide who you are, who you’re becoming, and how you’ll get there. You get to decide your principles, your values—what’s true to you.
And you can change it all in an instant. As you should.
Change when you discover better ways. When you can be more true to who you are, to what feels right, and what matters most.
Never settle into the comfort of day two—the familiar, the routine of what you’re used to. Instead, strive to do the right thing today. Every day.
Even if it makes you look erratic or inconsistent with yesterday. Take the world in, reflect, recalibrate, and adapt. So is the life of the maker.
Always moving. Always improving. With the courage to act, to make and remake decisions. Responding to the world around us.
To live intentionally. On your terms. To do what you want because you think it’s right.
Not everyone has to understand.
You don’t need to meet people’s expectations of you. That’s no prerequisite for progress or success.
Resist the urge to enter day two. When you do, change becomes harder.
Day one is a mindset. Today is day one.
And you’re just getting started.
